Abstract: This 100-employee engineering and robotics company has developed a system module that performs autonomous launch, recovery and turnaround services for multiple homing-capable UUVs aboard a USV or other small watercraft. The system is uniquely capable of operating in elevated sea states. It is provisionally targeted for use on the Navy's USV-MIW, hosted by the LCS. Lab testing of full-scale hardware has been conducted, and an in-water demonstration of autonomous recovery of a cable-homing REMUS 100 to the Navy's USV-HTF test vehicle is scheduled for June 2010. Support is sought to complete development, fabrication and testing of the turnaround services part of the system, conduct open water trials, and fit the system to the USV-MIW or other small watercraft of interest to the military or industry.
