Abstract: Known for its ability to deliver high quality antenna solutions, this innovative company has developed UCAST, a new generation EM simulation tool based on the uniform geometrical theory diffraction (UTD) for predicting near and far field radiation patterns and coupling effects that are associated with antennas on electrically large complex platforms with material treatments. Now at the Beta level, UCAST applies the relevant UTD mechanisms along the paths identified by the ray tracking algorithm and deals with electrically large and realistic CAD models of airborne platforms. Designed initially to assist fixed wing aircraft platforms, UCAST will also be applicable to military platforms which have multiple antennas. Funding is sought from prime system integrators and DoD program offices to complete the testing and adaption of UCAST.
