Abstract: Seven-year old, 60-employee company develops and produces leading-edge directional acoustic receivers / arrays for Navy sonar applications. We are developing new transduction technologies to improve performance of submarine towed arrays, such as the TB-29 thin-line array. The company recently developed a three-axis vector sensor with integrated preamplifier and orientation sensor to support an upcoming field test of a thin-line towed array. The sensor measures acoustic pressure and particle acceleration to instantaneously determine bearing of a potential threat, providing much faster response time than current towed array systems. An improved version of the sensor is being prototyped and is expected to be complete in early FY10. Seeks relationships with towed array system manufacturers to integrate a vector sensor towed array system into the Navy's suite of surveillance techniques.
