Abstract: A real-time, physics-based software module has been developed by this leader in state-of-the-art rotorcraft analysis providing high fidelity simulation and training of the shipboard operational environment. The physics-based modeling approach minimizes the need for extensive empirical tuning of the trainer flight dynamics model, saving development costs per platform and extensive testing, while providing the ability to model interactional effects not possible in current training systems. While adaptable to any rotorcraft system, the current development will integrate the advanced rotorcraft aerodynamic module within an MH-60 trainer to provide demonstration and evaluation in pilot-in-the-loop simulation. The company is seeking partners to transition the modeling technology (through software licensing) to fielded DoD rotorcraft training systems as part of simulator upgrades and development of next-generation cooperative training systems.
