Automatic Repair Planning and Part Archival System (ARPPAS) Keywords: Finite element, composite material, repair, maintenance, database, automatic flight safety Abstract: Leading developer of embedded engineering applications has developed technology for JSF that predicts flight safety margins and deformation of composite part aging, modification, or repairs, and automatically archives full life-cycle records. The technology greatly reduces maintenance planning and repair time by automatically constructing a finite element (FEA) part representation, including repair details, and analyzes margins; produces rapid, efficient, and accurate flight safety for worn/damaged composite aircraft parts; and provides data needed to plan efficient, successful repairs. No specialized engineering knowledge is required for use. Maintenance/repair organizations for military/commercial aircraft using composite parts can benefit. Full FEM transformation between multiple OEM FEA preprocessors has been demonstrated. Seeks opportunities with primes and aircraft programs to integrate the technology into the planned logistics program for new aircraft fleets.
