Hybrid Bearings Non Destructive Evaluation (NDE) Quad Chart Narrative Briefing Capabilities BrochureKeywords: Non-destructive testing, condition based maintenance, engine component life extension Abstract: Working extensively with Prime Contractors under an SBIR, this Venture Capital-backed AS9100B certified Aerospace non-destructive testing (NDT) business has developed Process Compensated Resonance Testing (PCRT) applications that reduce both the cost and defect rates in hybrid bearings. PCRT combines resonant ultrasound spectroscopy and pattern recognition technology into an NDT capability that is accurate, fast, clean, and operator-independent. PCRT finds cracks, thermal degradation, fatigue, changes in residual stress, and many other defects. PCRT can also track over time the minute structural changes that precede cracking and failure, thus providing structural basis for condition-based maintenance. PCRT checks components without stripping coatings, thus reducing both cost and environmental impact. The Company seeks Navy and Prime partners to develop additional applications for engine components, wheels, and landing gear components.
